NW Iowa | I own a hip lift. It's the only real way of lifting them without hurting them.
I've seen guys lift a steer out of a bunk by the neck, but don't think I'd want to do that to a cow.
Had one that didn't want to get up 10 years back after a hard pull.
I lifted her twice a day for 2.5 weeks, then she started getting up on her own.
It's got two big steel loops that are welded to a scissor assembly.
That you crank tight
I have a very short chain i hook to skid steer grapple bucket and i just pick them up.
If you let them lay longer than a day or two, they won't get up.
Those muscles just don't seem to come back. | |
