We've had the cylinders act goofy like that on our JD 24' 635 disk. A few times during the season, we will have one person in the tractor hold the hydraulic lever in the up position while someone else cracks open and closed the line coming off the inner cylinder that leads to the outer cylinder. Lose a little bit of oil but seems to get the gremlins out of it. Good luck.
