Engine cost is going to be roughly the same no matter what route you go comparing apples to apples.

Dad was obsessed about putting a N14 in our class 8/9 case flagships. I slightly shudder about thinking of a 500+hp N14 running at 2100rpm all day long. I wouldn’t be surprised if engine life would be less than the ivecos that are built to run wide open all day long.
