I think you’re thinking too hard about this… sure some 13.5L have problems. But it’s not near all of them, the percentage is still relatively low, as in you’re far more likely to have no issues than to have an issue at this point. And a 3000 hour combine brings very little because it’s a pretty well worn machine. Not the engine, the actual threshing and separating components, the frame has been shook around for 2500 separator hours at that point. Augers have been replaced once, all the sheet metal in the feeder house/auger pans, grain tanks has slid a whole lot of material through it. That’s not unique to a combine with a 13.5L, that’s combines across the board. My guess is there just isn’t a market for this type of thing. If there is then why don’t you make the swap on yours and figure out what you need to sell and sell kits.
Yep. Common sense here. While the 13.5L isn't JD's best effort, it's not a train wreck by any means. Not worth fooling around trying to shoehorn a 15L in it, IMO. Or a 12.7 or whatever. |
