west central Iowa | Years ago I had two second calvers that were the first to calve and very hard pulls, I'm thinking neighbors bull. They both laid for over a month, one in a stalk field hauling feed and water to her. One I had to hobble her hind legs or she'd get them splayed out behind her. They both eventually got up and got fattened and sold as heiferettes. One of them had a hind hoof that came down folded back once in a while. I never used a hip lift or anything. | |
