North Central US | We had a heifer crawl around a pen for about 3 weeks, fed and watered her the entire time, every day she was in a new spot and both the water tub and feed dish were moved.
She'd crawl/drag herself over to the hay we'd pitch in and seemed content at most.
Then one day she was up and wandering around the pen. No warning, just one day crawling around, the next day up.
She wasn't a tame, pet like cow to begin with, but treating her like one seemed to annoy her into moving around. I don't know if it helped or not.
Dad figured as long as she was eating and moving around and changing sides she was laying on, keep feeding her. What else do you do? | |
