Well for starters there are 6,272,640 places to grab a 1 inch soil sample just in one acre!

Even with pulling 10 or 15 cores from one acre the percentage of representation is still insignificant.

Then add in the fact people on here say it makes a difference as to the time of year along with the wetness or dryness of the soil can skew the numbers.

To base decisions solely off of a soil test is still pretty much a crap shoot, especially in my part of Missouri.

Also I can't help but think of the picture someone posted not to long ago with dark green fertilizer streaks running one direction and dark green tile line streaks going a different direction. So major variability just within one acre (or 10 feet away) is not limited to NEMO.
