We just let them fall off naturally. I’ve also seen helicopters used to try to knock nuts off. It’s never worked well from my experience.
Occasionally someone will bring a shaker up from Cali and try that. It’s pretty hard on the trees, they are shallow rooted and not terribly strong.
The variety I have drops 90% of the crop by October 10th.
Hoping for a bumper crop this year!
