I agree with CC. Just off the soybean row, but then I am 8-10" off the old corn row. That way I am never in the middle of the wheel tracks and the new crop's roots can access the old band of fertilizer from the previous year. It also allows me to strip-till corn on corn for three years before having to deal with old root balls.
