southern MN | My theory is that the different types of N act differently in the soil and convert to what the plant needs at different rates and times.
This will give your plant a slightly better chance of getting N when it needs it, and a slightly less chance of all of your N disappearing from a big weather event.
You improve the odds of your corn plant having a bit of N available when it needs it?
So the answer to your question would be, depends how you mean that exactly? I think the multiple forms of N help lower your risk of losing all the N which helps your corn plant. But if you were careful (or lucky) to not lose or tie up your N to start with, then I don’t think the corn plant would actually benefit from different sources.
