Mr Bowlus - 3/20/2025 18:21 Why would you need much more than 150 lbs N after soybeans? Very rarely does it ever “pay” around here. We put on 140 lbs and avg 220.

#1)   There's a lot of CoC grown around here.

#2)   While hog manure is a very good fertilizer, it comes with a lot more inconsistencies (both application and analysis) than any commercial form of N.     I would suspect that covering those inconsistencies is where a lot of CTN's yield increases from cutting manure and adding some commercial N have come from.

This…

We have done the same thing and have seen the same results and we apply our own manure and are VERY meticulous. Manage the P&K with manure and adjust the N with liquid on the planter.
