| July 22. 1968 driving home on leave from MCB 29 Palms Ca. Hwy 54 south of Corona NM driving thru hot/dry mountains about midnight; topped a hill and could see eyeballs everywhere as far a headlights shone. Massive deer herd grazing roadsides. Just creep thru honking horn and bump until they would make a little space. Herd was over 2 miles thru and anyone's guess how many thousand. Must have been every deer in New Mexico. | |
