Plants mainly absorb nitrogen in the nitrate, NO3 form. Natural soil microbes and processes must convert all the ammonia and urea forms of N fertilizer to nitrate so it can be taken up by the plants.
So no, the plants don't care what kind of N fertilizer you use, but some N fertilizer does take longer to become available to growing plants. However, the timing of N fertilizer application is a factor.
