| Joe Rogan interviewed him recently and I think that is where I heard him say this. A fully reusable rocket will cut the cost of getting payload to orbit down by a factor of 10000 times. Then, if an orbiting station can be constructed and refuelling rockets in space can be achieved the cost to get to Mars from there would be reduced by a further 10000 times.
People can hate on him all they want but the man has assembled a team that has far, far surpassed anything NASA could ever have achieved. There is way too much bureaucracy in NASA to be efficient like that. | |
