Most of my passwords are in the 13-15 character range.
Unique for each site, but I use a system to make them easier to remember.
By adding a few capitals, lower case, numbers and at least one extra character such as an asterisk, you can easily get in the 35 year range around 13 characters.
Several of mine at 15 characters with the enhancements listed above tested at centuries to crack.
