Galahad, Alberta
This is from another post I put up.

"The tariff that Canada puts on US dairy imports (varies for various products -Milk 241%, butter 298%, etc) is subject to that particular product exceeding a limit (gallons or lbs). This limit is called a Tariff Rate Quota. Only when a product exceeds its limit will Canada apply the tariff. Let's use milk as an example. Per the USMCA agreement from 2018

https://ustr.gov/trade-agreements/free-trade-agreements/united-state...

the US is allowed a max TRQ of 50,000 MT of liquid milk per year before the tariff will kick in. The US dairy industry acknowledges that they are currently not even at half of that volume of exports to Canada. It should thus be noted that all milk imports currently coming into Canada from the US are tariff-free. The US is also not close to exceeding the TRQ on any of the other 13 categories of dairy imports.

Canada also has TRQ limits and tariffs on poultry products and eggs. Again, the US is not close to exceeding those limits, thus, any poultry products coming into Canada are not being tariffed.

Oddly, Trump fails to mention these little facts. He also fails to mention that the US has TRQs on Canadian dairy and sugar products coming into the States. The tariff is a flat rate monetary amount per unit of volume, not a percentage of price."

I don't deny the TRQ rates on your list for cheese, butter, or chicken. They're the only things right from that whole list. Milk is 241% and cream is 292%.

As for the rest of the items on your list with their BS tariffs that some keyboard-warrior made up, here is the US gov website that you can go on and look up items. These are rates that were agreed upon in USMCA 2018.

https://www.trade.gov/fta-tariff-tool-search

Under 1. select exporting
Under 2. select Canada USMCA
Under 3. type in 1003 (harmonized system code for barley)
Click search.
Below it will show the 8 different export categories that there are for barley going into Canada. I defy you to find 57.8% under any of them.

Here is a link to a US gov website where you can find the HS code for any product:

https://uscensus.prod.3ceonline.com/ui/#!#current-question-pos

Here are the rest of the HS codes for your BS list:

sausage 1601
meat - beef -0201, 0202, 0210, 1602
- swine -0203, 0210, 1602
- poultry -0207, 0210 You will notice here tariff rates ( eg. 238%, 249%, etc) for exceeding TRQ's. Canada's TRQ for poultry meat products in 2024 was just under 121,000 metric tonnes. The US supplies 80% of that volume. So as I pointed out above, American products will only be tariffed if the imports exceed that 121,000 MT limit.

cars 8703
HVAC 8479.6000
vacuums 8508
cable boxes 8525
televisions 8528
steel 7201-7229
aluminum 7601-7616
Copper 7401-7413

Show me where there are any of those BS tariff rates for those products that "Canada has been putting...on many USA goods for decades." I'll be waiting for you to get back to me.

"Have fun"
