We had to wash Zip-Loc bags so they could be reused. And the 2 times I remember going to Michigan to visit one of dads Army buddies, we'd pull into a grocery store when it was time to eat. Mom would go inside and buy a loaf of bread, a package of bologna, some chips, and we'd eat lunch in the tailgate of the station wagon in the parking lot. This would have been the mid 70s.

That's the way it was in the 60's for us. When we'd go to eat at a restaurant it was a special treat. And both my parents worked 44 hour a week jobs and Dad farmed some on the side. Then I read on here all this doom and gloom. Most guys posting on here don't know what really hard times are.

Restaurants? You went restaurants?
My 6th grade teacher had us kids write a paper in here class about our favorite restaurant meals........I had NOTHING to write about, I never ever ate meal in a restaurant before 6th grade.
Of course, my grade reflected that.
