We could call grandpa and grandma free but they had to pay if they called us. This was back when we had party lines. So if someone called we had to let it ring 3 times before we could answer. Grandma would call us and let it ring 2 times and hang up. That meant that she wanted us to call her. Her and mom would talk at least once a day.
Any one else’s dad as cheap as mine?
