Fancy way of saying you contract sampling with EarthOptics. And if your cost is the same as mine why are you charging growers $15 per acre? Don’t you make enough off the products you sell on those acres? You shouldn’t have to up charge that much for something you don’t lift a finger to complete.
Evidently my cost must be more than yours or you don't spend as much time with the customer as I do. We go out, scan the fields, pull the samples. Takes a lot of time to do it and do it correctly. Especially when testing equipment has issues and takes an hour to update out in the field. Then spend minimum of 2 hours going over results with each customer, then helping them write prescriptions for each field for fertilizer. Not all of my soil sampling customers are needing or using the biologicals I sell. They may need some other type that I don't sell or just plain don't want to use biologicals. It is a separate part of the business. What are you charging for sampling? Are you figuring your cost and your time accurately? Do you have the proper commercial insurance in case you start a fire and burn half of the countryside up if they can't get it out fast enough? Are you just pulling samples and making your customers figure it out on their own? I personally can't see how you can do it any cheaper and come out ahead. Either that or I am getting hosed on my cost. On the biological end of things. There isn't a lot of profit margin on those. Also not sure why you are attacking me for writing a simple post about what I do. |
