southern MN | Those things are kind of an issue in Minnesota at least.
Even tho shallow aquifers have pretty much been abandoned for drinking water, they get real fussy about getting old wells filled with sealing clay that keeps contaminates sealed out of the aquifers.
I can maybe kind of go along with their thinking on this, as much as govt rankles me.
Gravel or sand or rock are especially not the thing to use. Think about the hole in the cattle yard, what is going to flow rapidly down into the bottom of the water supply?
