South cental Ohio
This spring in the barnyard, a sink hole developed. Looked like a suck hole from a tile but it's right in the middle of the barnyard. An old arial photo shows an old windmill right where the hole is. I had no idea there used to be a well there years ago. The second well finding was last fall while doing some plowing. Found what appeared to be a suck hole in the field where there possibly could be an old clay tile breakage. Nope! Apon digging to fix it, discovered a bunch of rocks and an opening that goes about 20 feet down (full of water of course) . Dumped a load of gravel in it and covered it up. Have yet to find any evidence of a well ever being there....must be old.
