Western Illinois | Got a new to me feed truck with a rotomix 524-15 box on it. Heck of an upgrade for me from my old GMC with a 2300 Knight. But of course it needs rebuilt. Reel liner and new bottom auger flighting. My question is what is the correct way to put the new flighting on(got everything from post)overlap at the seams? Make it flush? Where do you start all my other mixers it stops where the door starts but on this it goes to the middle of the door. How much do you weld it? One side? Both sides? 4” welds or solid? Tube has some wear on it as well but still seems plenty thick. Should I try to straddle in between the pitch of the previous auger so it wears in a different spot? Would think if I don’t get enough weld it would just rip it off with all the pressure on that bottom auger. Not my first time welding but never welded on one of these augers before | |
