Big Sky Country
I use a floating oval ball deal—-inside it is a big—maybe 1”?—like a ball bearing that rolls from one end to the other.

When it hangs down it completes a circuit, as water rises it rolls to other end and no circuit. A cord comes outa this, it’s got both female and male plugs—-you plug the male into your power, plug pump into female.

They make 2 style of these—-one turns on when ball is down, to fill a tank.

Other turns on when ball deadly is up—for sump pump. You got it tethered with the cord, adjust length and position to suit when you want it on and off.

Finally had one freeze in and crack this winter—-ice was real thick, not enuf cows. Easy to bypass and get water—-just pull pump male outa ball cord, ball cord outa supply and plug into each other
