So your message is just suck it up. Let’s say that you are 66, been been putting money in Ira for 30 years, need to retire for health reasons or spouse health or etc. your Ira or SEP has decreased in value by 15% due to erratic economic policies. You worked and paid taxes and social security your whole life. How’s it feel twhen someone says “deal with it” ?
First of all, I’m sorry for the struggles you are dealing with. Been there myself.
15% loss on 30 years of input wouldn’t be the thing to do you in, I wouldn’t think. Especially when it will probably more than come back to you within a couple years. If I’m wrong, I’ll be glad to shake your hand and apologize. I sure could be wrong. Wouldn’t be the first time. But seeing the way things were headed the first time, I just don’t see a mid-term downside at this point. |
