Can’t believe all the hypocrites on this site that have turned on our current administration and are worried about the tariffs. They turned out well the first time, but nobody can remember a damn thing.
Farmers have been about as well to do as any group ever in the last few years. How dare anyone have to suffer a little bit for the greater good of the country, and yourselves in the long run. Never been as embarrassed to be part of this group as I am right now. Complain if you were hung with a new rope, I guess.

The tariffs did not turn out well. We all made less money than we would have and Brazil ramped up expansion even faster to meet China's needs. Those 2 years were wasted, export damaging and meant nothing in the end just like this will. Trump is president for 4 years and has only 2 years to so anything. China will call his bluff and simply wait. Not hard to see how this ends. It ends with basically nothing, just like before. Meanwhile the USDA continues to lie in favor of low prices. Factoring in tariffs that haven't happened yet while ignoring export sales on the WASDE and printing make believe spring yields again. We would all be better off if a massive drought taught real lessons to a country and a world that takes the abundance if cheap food for granted. Unfortunately, the seed, chemical and machinery companies would jack up prices and steal the gains within a year or 2 like always.

I actually agree with most of your paragraph, except the very first part. I do think the tariffs were having a pretty positive impact, but I’m not limiting that solely to the ag economy.
You are spot on about the limited time DJT has and china just waiting it out. I think it ultimately depends on keeping like-minded folks in power for a while. And that may be a big challenge.
And you are absolutely right about the machinery and other input vendors eating it all up. But that is always a challenge, no matter the cause of any, even short term, prosperity.
