Subject: Magnum MFD differences

West Central Iowa
Looking at several different mfd magnums. What are the major differences between a 7140,7240,8940 and 7150,7250,8950? The way I understand things is that the 50's have a heavier rear end and both 40's and 50's use the intercooled engine and have only the 1000 pto shaft. All the 71 series I have considered already have the 4 speed reverse and are 1990 or newer. I also have been told the 72 series turn sharper. Any other major differences? Are the 50's that much bigger than the 40's? I will be replacing a 225 hp 4 wheel drive and want something that will handle the same jobs, primarily tillage. I have never really heard too much bad about magnums and I already have a 7120 2wd. It has been a good tractor but I have never run one of the mfds. Any comments on the magnum mfds and their differences is appreciated.
