Subject: RE: Ferappease for grafting a new calf

Central Nebraska
We tried it on a graft about 10 days ago. Cow was too smart and didn’t pan out. Next 1 (with same twin) we rubbed the dead calf all over the twin and got it to work about day 2. She was pretty calm tho.
The other night we pulled a dead calf. Before turning cow loose we went and got a twin that we hadn’t pulled yet and covered it in the goo off dead calf and I smeared after birth all over twin. Cut cow loose and she smelled the standing and quite active twin, she had to be thinking this smells right but something isn’t right. Within 24 hr she adopted it.
