Oats pea would be a great calf growing feed. Lots of protein compared to corn silage but not the energy. But I bet if you blended the 2 silages it would be good.
Also peas will pull the oat plant down pretty bad if it is a rank crop which it sounds like it might be with hog manure on the land.
Oat/pea silage for feedlot cattle....will this plan work?
