Having never torn into one of those F/R in an 85/95 series not sure on how they go out. (We just have the straight 8F/4R) My understanding is the F/R unit is like the T/A unit except reverse instead of powershift to low.

I'm theorizing slippage since simply moving the F/R lever doesn't change the gear or range lever L1 might be the only gear that the tractor will move forward in with a slipping clutch pack.

Try posting on redpower, AlexUK or Bernard LeMechano likely have worked on these.
