SW Minnesota | I’ve started this approach this year. Any sort of loose manure and I’m trying to collect it to pin down what exactly I’m dealing with. I figure if I can decipher what it is early, on a couple that I treat, if it blows up I’ll be better prepared.
Had my first scour yesterday, kind of a mucus looking yellow scour. treated with sustain Iii and drench, calf left a sample while I was treating him. Clinic couldn’t find anything with what they are capable of testing and didn’t have enough to send off. That calf’s stool firmed up today.
Two more today. Hopefully they can send these samples off and give me an answer. Was glad to see response to sustain iii, hopefully it’s bacterial. Whatever I broke with last year was the worst experience with cattle I’ve ever had. Never could get a head of it. | |
