Aylsham, SK | You are using MAP so ammonia toxcity is not a problem like with DAP. We use 50 lbs of MAP up here with peas, single shoot with no issue, we avoid potash, but have no problems with the MAP with Peas.
The salt index or MAP is 0.41, whereas urea is 1.62, or 4 times as salty. Potash is 1.92, and Ammonium sulphate is 3.25. The salt index is not really a concern with MAP, so i would not be scared to but some down with my beans. 50# product for sure, ask someone else in the know for how high to go in your soils, and pH.
