Shelbina, Missouri (NEMO) | I've never had the top or bottom bearing on a Westfield last very long. I did that same as above, turned the bearing to point the zerk to the side, then torched a hole in the chain shield to be able to get at it. It also lets us spray a shot of chain lube on the drive chain every now and then as well. I grease our augers every morning during harvest. Still lose a bearing every now and then...
The main problem I have is with grenading the CV joint in the PTO shaft. I've went through several. I thought it was being caused by moving the auger with the shaft still hooked to the tractor, but even when I quit that for a while, they were still grenading. Westfield/Wheatheart has a LOT of room for improvement in their drivelines...
