Subject: RE: White planter air shut off

Southeast MN
Dry fertilizer dust causes problems with the seed stop system on my planter. On the control box, the spring loaded (momentary portion) switch is to make sure the solenoid closes the valve by running higher current through the coil because it has less pull force when extended. Then when the solenoid is retracted and release the spring loaded portion of the switch it drops to a lower current to hold the valve shut.

If you run high current through the coil too long, it will burn out. That is why there are 3 wires going to the coil. I hope this helps. When I talked to the guys at seedstop they were helpful.
