At rooftop level, I'd probably be lucky to get a mile or 2. I had mine 140' in the air and could get 7-12 miles depending upon direction.
When Ag leader added the internal Ntrip client to there incommand displays, I started using that with my own base. For a few years I had radio's on some vehicles and ntrip on others. The ntrip just works so much better I have gone to only that and will be removing the radio from my base. (or actually just putting in a different base without a radio).
Ntrip range is in effect limitless, however the accuracy goes down with distance. I haven't seen any noticeable degradation in 12 miles.
Thanks for the info. I have a 40' tower and a 57K bu grain bin available.
Running your own NTRIP server is just using a cell modem to access that, correct? Not really any different than using ODOT's CORS network that we are doing currently I would think?
Appreciate it
