Drawn planter hydraulic requirements

1750 Rigid Planter

The 1750 Planter hydraulic requirements depend on planter configuration. However, a base equipped 1750 requires two tractor selective control valves (SCV)—one for planter raise/lower and markers (automatic alternation) and one for vacuum seed metering.

A separate SCV and closed-center hydraulic system is required for vacuum metering system. (Tractor power beyond kit can be used to eliminate SCV requirement.)

The 1750 utilizes a series / rephasing hydraulic lift system for 4Row and 6Row narrow configurations and a phased cylinder hydraulic lift system for 6Row wide and 8Row narrow machines.

1760 and 1760NT Wing-fold Planter

The 1760 and 1760NT Planter hydraulic requirements vary by planter configuration. As base equipment, both the 1760 and 1760NT require three tractor SCVs - one for planter raise/lower, one for markers (independent of planter lift), and one for vacuum seed metering. A fourth, separate SCV is required for optional, hydraulic wing fold (available on eight- and twelve-row models) unless equipped with the marker/fold diverter valve (code 1415).

1770 Front-fold Planter

The 1770 12Row30 Front-fold Planter requires four SCVs. Lift, markers, fold, and vacuum seed metering all require a SCV. If planter is ordered with markers connected to lift or with plateless seed metering, then the number of SCVs will be reduced accordingly.

1770NT and 1770NT CCS™ Front-fold Planter

1770NT Planter hydraulic requirements depend on planter configuration. The 1770NT 12 and 16Row base equipped planters require three SCVs - one for planter lift and fold system, one for marker operation, and one for vacuum metering system. These planters utilize the frame control box and electric solenoids for some hydraulic functions. If plateless seed metering is ordered, the SCV requirement is reduced by one SCV. Markers connected to planter lift also reduce the SCV requirement by one. The 1770NT 16Row frame raise/lower system may require up to 18 gpm to achieve an acceptable (5 second) raise time.

1770NT 12 and 16Row CCSTM Planters also require three SCVs - one for planter lift, seed delivery fan, and fold system; one for marker operation; one for vacuum metering system. These planters utilize the frame control box and electric solenoids for some hydraulic functions. If plateless seed metering is ordered, the SCV requirement is reduced by one SCV. Markers connected to planter lift also reduce the SCV requirement by one. The Central Commodity System motor seal case drain hose, identified with yellow tag, must be coupled to the case drain sump coupler. Order 6900 series code for appropriate tractor.

1770NT 24Row and 24Row CCS Planters require four SCVs to operate base equipment - one SCV for lift, seed delivery fan, and frame fold; one for markers; and two for the two vacuum metering system. If plateless seed metering is ordered, the SCV requirement is reduced by two SCVs. Markers connected to planter lift also reduce the SCV requirements. Frame raise/lower system may require up to 25 gpm on the 40-ft planter for an acceptable (5 second) raise time.

1780 Rigid Planter

The 1780 Rigid-frame Planter, as base equipment, requires two SCVs - one for planter raise/lower and markers (automatic alternation) and one for vacuum metering system. However, three SCVs are needed when independent marker control is ordered. A closed center hydraulic system is required if vacuum seed metering is used (tractor power beyond kit can be used to eliminate SCV requirements).

1790 Front-fold Planter

The 1790 Planter hydraulic requirements depend on planter configuration. As base equipped, the 1790 Planters require four SCVs—one for planter lift, seed delivery fan and fold system; one for marker operation; and two for vacuum metering system. These planters utilize the frame control box and electric solenoids for some hydraulic functions. Markers connected to planter lift reduce the SCV requirement by one. The frame raise/lower system may require 12 to 18 gpm on 30-ft models and up to 25 gpm on the 40-ft planter. The Central Commodity Systems motor seal case drain hose, identified with yellow tag, must be coupled to the case drain sump coupler. Order 6900 series code for appropriate tractor.
