If the pump is really bad, it will eat up a new shaft fast. I had one 4630 that quit in the field, he unhooked from the plow & I put a new shaft in so he could get it home to put a new pump in. About 2-3 miles to his place, & it didn't make it...wore the new shaft out before he got there. This tractor had about 10K hours at the time...
