Central, IA | When I installed my first RTK base station 20 years ago, mounting the antenna on a rooftop was not suggested due to multipath. But I also thought I saw somewhere that newer base stations have made improvements and it isn’t as problematic as it once was.
Currently my base is on top of my grain leg and since I have switched to using NTRIP pretty much exclusively, I was going to remount it at ground level. One possibility of mounting it where it would have a full view of the sky is on the roof of the shop.
Does anybody have any first hand experience if this is a good idea or not. | |
