Subject: RE: Micro dairy herd silage storage

NW Iowa
I helped my uncle back in the 90's with his cows.
He had a bagger for 35 cows.
He would do hay or silage in it.
The only thing was when it thawed, got pretty rutty in front of the bag.
If it was me
I would pour a pad for the bag or for silage to be packed on.
I put silage up every yr for my beef cows.
I'm feeding some 2 yrs old, that just like when i chopped it.
A good pack job even if not sealed with plastic will keep.
The outer will seal down, you just scrape that off and haul it out in the spreader.
Having some waste will be cheaper than anything else.
