X2 Nice thing about wrapped hay is if you cant get it all the way dry not an issue just wrap it. Short weather interval? Make small bales and wrap it as wet.
I have 30 beef cows and the fixed expenses eat up any advantage of the silage anyway. Dry wrapped alfalfa and orchard grass and ground corn for me.
