Depends how many acres you’re putting through it and how many acre it has on it if it’s used. Good machines overall, and can work very well in the right environments.
Inspect c shanks for hair line cracks on the backside, inside of the bend, this will tell you which ones to replace before they break in the field. Walking beams are an overall weak point once they get some age, grease doesn’t move around the entire pin well. And the non greasable parts just wear over time.
They’re heavy built frames, but the earlier ones are still much lighter than newer speed tillers and can work well to air out soils that a speed tiller would make a mess in. They will make a mess of clay that’s wet though. I wouldn’t call them a true VT, but if they aren’t run through mud they don’t have to make a bad compaction layer either
