 Pittsburg, Kansas | Maltodextrin is in a bazillion things. The pork rinds we eat that are flavored have maltodextrin as a carrier for the flavor as you say. I would prefer to not have it and mostly eat the unflavored variety that doesn't have it, but we do buy the flavored once in a while. Not a huge source of carbs because the volume is so low as just a carrier. But just another thing that does not add to the healtiness of a food. Probably not horribly bad, but not good. A bit of sugar.
