ECIL | It's rare leftovers get tossed here. In fact, when we make supper we plan on having enough for leftovers. Most are better after being in the fridge for a day or two (chili, stew, etc). One thing my wife doesn't care for is the way I do leftover pizza. Whatever is left after lunch or supper stays on a plate on the counter overnight, no fridge and no cover. I'll eat it for breakfast the next morning at room temperature. Been doing it for years with no bad side effects so far.
ETA: Many times when I grill meat I grill enough to last 3-6 days. Anything left after day 6 (or 7 at times) gets put in the freezer for future lunch use. When our kids were young I would grill enough for the week. Some would go in the fridge, the rest in the freezer. Fun fact: You can take a frozen grilled hamburger patty, place it in a frozen bun and after one minute in the microwave it's ready for condiments.
