There is good reason most all 500HP and larger tractors have an engine HP "de-rate" occur when the transmission is shifted down to a certain gear or slower. Engineers have figured out that when speeds below 4 MPH are used the strain on the final drives and differential/ring and pinion gears and bearings doubles or triples, depending on the tractor. I can't think of any other "farm" operation that would need to be less than 4 MPH, except tiling or a scrapper.
