NW Iowa | There is a wide variety of reasons why single people are single. In my area I know six women who have either lost the husband, divorced or never married. Of the six only one who was widowed when she was 50 remarried. One was divorced 40 years ago and has not been interested in even dating since then. The one lady who never did marry just didn’t find the right man, her fault I feel. The other three widows were married to not-so-nice husbands and I feel they have been afraid to get into another relationship. Also, some single people just enjoy the freedom of not being tied down. I have a very good friend who lost his loving wife of over fifty years to dementia. They raised three very christian girls who have wonderful marriages. Losing his wife was very tough but he will never look for another mate. He is a people person and he told me he now enjoys his freedom. | |
