| olivetroad - 2/22/2025 17:08 we sell small squares in 21 bale bundles. I havent heard what the total was for 2024. But a few years ago it was 70 thousand and growing. Going price is 8 to 10 dollars for grass, and 12 for alfalfa. Sometimes it's semi loads, and sometimes it's just one bundle, but we love all the customers!
Wow
That's nuts. Very little hay gets put up in small squares around here anymore. I bale a little for my own use for calves but no one wants to pay enough for it to be financially feasible to sell it in small squares.
The little bit that shows up at the local hay auction in small squares usually only sells for $30-$50 per ton more than similar hay in large rounds.
