CENTRAL ILLINIOS | I follow Dave's Auto Center in Utah on instagram. His shop has rebuilt more pickup truck engines than most of us have seen in our lifetimes. Some overheated or over tuned but many just sludged up. He makes an important point on these extended oil change intervals that the truck and tractor manufactures are pushing now. The extended change intervals came about at about the same time as exhaust gas recirculation and other emissions equipment was added to the diesel engines that they are pushing harder than ever for max power from smaller displacement. Not a good combination. I don't go to 300 hours on any of them. | |
