For a person to eat a single meal a day, not be hungry or nutrient deficient, they need to be in fat burning mode (with low insulin levels) rather than in glucose burning mode.
When in fat burning mode the body can easily switch to burning stored fat for energy or if glucose is needed the liver can make all a person needs. By eating nutrient dense foods (fatty meats) all the nutritional needs can be easily met.
For a person eating a standard American diet with 300 grams of carbs a day, eating one meal a day would be torture. A person would be hangry a good share of the time. Not sustainable. | |
