Subject: Update on tractor radio electrical “noise” interference

I’m about ready to pull my hair out trying to figure this out. On AM radio, has interference noise only when tractor is in gear and moving, noise goes away when I step in the clutch. Also loud noise when the 3-pt hitch is raising or lowering. Challenger 515D with Dyna 4 transmission. Things I’ve tried so far: New antenna ordered from Agco, and checked that antenna is grounded. Grounded the radio’s steel frame to the cab frame with a new wire and cut the original ground wire in the wiring harness.(this was suggested by an older radio shop owner) I checked for resistance in the ground side of my battery cables, including the electric disconnect that’s by the batteries. Someone suggested I check the alternator output for AC volts, that only reads .14V AC at the most, they had said it should be under .5vAC. So I’m out of ideas short of trying a complete new radio, but I don’t know if that could be the solution, I’m scared it would turn out to be a waste of a couple hundred dollars. Thanks to anyone smart enough to help me figure this out!
