Maybe you don't have corners. My corner cabinets are a double hinged door (i.e. the opening goes around the corner). Gives me pretty good access and I can still put things like crock pots in and out reasonably well.

I like the drawers I have. Make sure you've got good glides--big pots and fry pans have a lot of weight.

I do have one door with dividers inside to store baking sheets and stones on edge. I think that works better than trying to unstack them in a drawer. Maybe you'll use your pantry space for that.
