Latimer, Iowa (north central) | Pictures. The counter above the dishwasher is about 16” wide with the cupboards above. Gives a place to put dishes before putting in the washer when clearing table. They have a bunch of counter space on the island not in the pictures. Theirs’ goes dishwasher, oven, refrigerator in a line. It is easier to get into the plate cabinet too with a smaller countertop to lean over and then cabinet extends down to the top of the washer to give more space for storage.
My sister, with 3 kids, did dual drawer type dishwashers on both sides of her sink. The washers are smaller and entire drawer/dishwasher pulls out. Works good for a family as loads can be started sooner so more volume can be done. I am sure it cost more as 2 is fancier than the simple single washer my parents have.
